Workbench Screens by Steve Hazelwood, Coventry
I try to keep things simple - a nice backdrop, with my 5 HD partitions
I run a DBLPAL HIGH RES NO FLICKER screen on my 1940 monitor.
The backdrop was converted from a photo using GFXCON, using 32 colours.
I used RAM for the screengrabs, I normally have about 1.75Mb Chip free
thanks to FBLIT and HAPPYENV. Anybody that doesn't use these two progs
should get them straight away.
For anybody that is interested I run the following from WBSTARTUP+
Toolsdaemon, Wincommodity, PowerWB, AssignX, PatchPointer, Sermouse
(excellent - provided with MOUSEIT use a PC Mouse!!), Bblank, Noiconborder,
Magicmenu, Arq, NISClock, TurboStart(Turboprint5), Screentab.
Just as a PS for anybody considering upgrading their machine can I suggest
that from my own experience you must have an 040 processor. The difference
between my old 030 50mhz and my 040 25mhz is like night and day. Even
printing on my Epson 600 is significantly faster and playing mods etc on
WBench doesn't get in the way of other work!! And Formula One GP well!!!
Most of my Amiga pals have deserted the ship, so anyone wants a general
chit chat or wants something give me a call on 01203 453521 - after 6.00
By the way after the news about the new chip (April 1st?) is BEN VOST
an alien?
